Hailing district of Taizhou city, in East China's Jiangsu province, signed 15 new projects worth over 500 million yuan ($69.12 million) each, in the first quarter of the year.

According to the latest statistics, the total value of the agreed investments topped 10 billion yuan.

Sun Qun, Party secretary of Hailing, told a technology investment promotions conference in the district on April 8 that the region would highlight the gathering of innovative elements – such as talent, information, projects and funds – in the process of attracting fresh projects.

Moreover, it would coordinate the revitalization of traditional industries, the growth of emerging industries and the cultivation of future industries.

Hailing would also work together to perform well in scientific and technological innovation and industrial innovation – and speed up the forging of new quality productive forces.

Also on April 8, the Guoqian Zhigu Comprehensive Science and Technology Industrial Park and the Kunyu smart energy storage lithium battery system integration project – both involving 1 billion yuan in investment – each broke ground. That's said to underscore the rapid development momentum of project construction in the district.

The Guoqianzhigu industrial park aims to create a high-end equipment manufacturing and production base for key components of new energy vehicles, energy-saving and environmental protection equipment and rail transit components.

The Kunyu project will involve two phases. On completion, it's expected to ramp up output and achieve an annual production capacity of 5 gigawatt-hours of battery cells, with invoiced sales of 4 billion yuan.
