Dingfeng village in the Hailing district, Taizhou, has been a driving force in local rural vitalization in recent years by actively pursuing the recognition of a provincial-level characteristic village.

In the village's Vegetable Cooperative, a thriving greenhouse operation symbolizes its agricultural success, with various vegetables flourishing under it.

"The village committee not only provides us with thermal insulation materials for our greenhouses but also reminds us to pay attention to the strong cold air," said Wang Dunsheng, a local vegetable grower.

Dingfeng villagers have turned the development of greenhouse vegetable cultivation into a renowned demonstration of agricultural prowess.

The village currently boasts a vegetable planting area exceeding 800 mu (about 53.33 hectares), yielding 5,200 metric tons of produce annually, valued at 13.6 million yuan ($1.87 million). On average, 15,000 kilograms of vegetables are supplied daily to meet local demand.

In addition, villagers' living standards have been significantly improved, with new leisure walkways, a garden, and a spacious activity hall.

Dingfeng village is poised to increase its villagers' income further by introducing new vegetable varieties and experimenting with innovative fertilizers. At the same time, the village will maximize the use of idle collective resources to boost its collective economic income.
