The list of 2025 Jiangsu provincial new types of public cultural spaces has been announced, with 12 spaces from Taizhou making the cut, including the Jiangsu Salt Tax Museum, π Space, and Taizhou Children's Bookstore within the Hailing district.
These cultural spaces are dedicated to providing public cultural services that seamlessly blend local characteristics with spatial design, functional refinement, and premium service quality.
The Jiangsu Salt Tax Museum, China's sole institution dedicated to preserving and showcasing salt tax heritage, has curated a diverse array of themed exhibitions in recent years, bringing history to life for visitors. Beyond its displays, the museum has strengthened its community impact by expanding its volunteer program and enriching public cultural services through traveling exhibitions, expert-led lectures, and thought-provoking academic seminars.
π Space incorporates reading and cultural exchange into cafes and teahouses, providing a rich selection of books for visitors to enjoy while sipping coffee or tea. It also hosts reading sharing sessions, knowledge lectures, and cultural activities regularly.
Taizhou Children's Bookstore blends books with culture to create a dynamic cultural complex. Beyond a refined reading environment, it hosts a reader's salon, educational training, dining experiences, and family-friendly activities.
