The Shisheng street nighttime consumption block in Hailing district, Taizhou, East China's Jiangsu province, has recently been designated among the provincial list of nighttime consumption business areas (pedestrian streets).
Stretching about 500 meters and covering a total area of 5,972.28 square meters, this historic street was one of Taizhou's most prosperous commercial centers during the Ming and Qing dynasties (1368-1911).
Today, the block stands out with its specialty dining and diverse consumption choices, drawing many new brands to the area.
Utilizing elements of intangible cultural heritage, the entity has established the Grand Canal Night Banquet-themed cultural tourism corridor, which complements the Fengcheng River Scenic Area to attract a larger audience.
Traditional festivals feature cultural activities such as qipao fashion shows and intangible heritage craft exhibitions. These celebrations transform the area into a vibrant commercial hub, blending historical traditions with modern trends to appeal to young audiences.
Furthermore, it has executed enhancements to the streetscape lighting, elevating landscape illumination to establish iconic nighttime destinations.
