Hailing district in Taizhou, Jiangsu province, has taken a pioneering step in industrial safety by introducing a "one pipe, one code" system, assigning unique digital IDs to every segment of industrial pipelines. This initiative aims to enhance the management and maintenance of pipelines carrying hazardous materials like steam and liquefied petroleum gas.

Previously, manual record-keeping often led to missed inspections and difficulties in locating specific pipes. Now, with QR codes affixed to each pipe, maintenance staff can instantly access vital information such as pipe direction, medium transported, and inspection history via smartphone scans.

The project, covering 33 enterprises and 26.31 kilometers of pipelines, has transformed pipeline management from a cumbersome task into a precise, data-driven process. By dividing the management units into 458 independent pipe sections, each with its own code, Hailing ensures accurate tracking and timely maintenance, significantly reducing safety risks.

This digital upgrade not only streamlines operations but also provides crucial data support for emergency responses and risk predictions, marking a significant leap forward in industrial pipeline safety management.
