Launched on May 20 this year, the 2-month-old Fengcheng Night Market in Hailing district, Taizhou, Jiangsu province, has quickly become the city's most popular after-dark gathering spot, hitting a peak daily footfall of 16,000 visitors.

The market hosts over 140 stalls covering street food, desserts, drinks, cultural creative products and pet supplies. Six dedicated stalls are reserved for hearing-impaired vendors, adding warm, inclusive touches to the bustling street scene. Around 30 percent of the stall owners are non-local migrants from across China, bringing diverse regional flavors from Northeast China region, Anhui, Henan and beyond.

A strict category control system avoids disorderly competition, while two on-site cleaners and post-market deep disinfection keep the space tidy at all times. The thriving market has driven nearby retail consumption and created nearly 600 local jobs, turning into a new economic bright spot for Hailing's nighttime economy.
