Jiangyan district, located in Taizhou city in East China's Jiangsu province, has shown strong economic growth in the first half of 2023.
Its regional GDP reached 43.01 billion yuan ($6 billion), a 7 percent increase compared to the previous year, making it rank second in Taizhou city.
Construction on projects in Jiangyan have been progressing steadily, with 36 new projects worth over 100 million yuan each breaking ground in the first half of the year. The total investment for these projects reached 8.3 billion yuan, with 17 projects already completed and an actual completed investment of 5.84 billion yuan.
Furthermore, Jiangyan's consumer market has fully recovered, with private service enterprises above designated size generating an operating income of 2.26 billion yuan, a 19.25 percent increase compared to last year.
Additionally, the district saw its agricultural production and its total export and import volume grow significantly.
Moving forwards, plans are for Jiangyan to continue focusing on its strengths and addressing its weaknesses in order to promote sustainable economic growth.
