The Jiangyan district of Taizhou city – located in East China's Jiangsu province – is reputedly setting itself a new standard for sustainable development.
Resident manufacturers Jiangsu Taida Textile Co Ltd and Jolywood (Taizhou) Solar Technology Co Ltd are said to be at the forefront of the green revolution.
In fact, Jiangsu Taida Textile Co Ltd's recent investment of 530 million yuan ($74.19 million) in an intelligent, information-based factory has earned it the prestigious title of a green factory by the Industry and Information Technology Department of Jiangsu.

The move, coupled with the company's commitment to clean production and low-carbon energy, has resulted in a great financial performance, with taxed sales last yearexceeding 1.2 billion yuan and profits after tax topping 50 million yuan.
Jolywood (Taizhou) Solar Technology Co Ltd has also made significant gains, investing nearly 600 million yuan in its digital transformation to become a global leader in the N-type segment of solar technology.
In 2023, the Jiangyan district posted industrial invoiced sales of 88.74 billion yuan and recorded a net increase in revenue for63 manufacturers above a designated scale – those with annual main business income of 20 million yuan or more – while creating 13 new national-level specialized and sophisticated "little giant" enterprises, which refers to novel and elite small and medium-sized enterprises that specialize in a niche market, boast cutting-edge technologies, and show great potential.
Moving forwards, plans are for the district to go even greener and increase the number of provincial-level specialized and sophisticated "green factories" – solidifying its position as a trailblazer in sustainable and high-quality development.
