As one of the oldest provincial development zones in Jiangsu province, Jiangyan EDZ has faced bottlenecks in development with 60 percent of its enterprises engaging in traditional industries. In response, the zone has built the 3,000-square-meter workshop as a hub for innovation and entrepreneurship.
The workshop has already hosted 20 matchmaking events with universities and research institutions and organized 12 industry-education-research collaboration activities to attract high-level projects and talent.
Moreover, the workshop has assisted innovation and entrepreneurship talent in applying for over 10 million yuan ($1.4 million) in awards, with an additional 2 million yuan in supplementary awards provided by the zone.
Additionally, the zone offers specialized services and apartments to innovation and entrepreneurship talent, ensuring a seamless and comfortable experience. Over 20 networking events are held annually, which have attracted more than 300 talents, enhancing the zone's overall vibrancy.
Jiangyan EDZ is now home to six provincial and 14 municipal innovation and entrepreneurship projects and has attracted five national innovation and entrepreneurship talents and 15 high-level talents above the municipal level. Furthermore, eight incubation projects have been launched, contributing significantly to the development of new quality productive forces in the area.
