More than 150 experts, scholars, business leaders, and Jiangyan-born PhD and master's graduates gathered in Jiangyan district for the "Experts Visiting Jiangyan" event on Aug 25, which was aimed at strengthening cooperation between universities and local industries while accelerating technology transfer and innovation-driven development.

A highlight of the event was the unveiling of the Taizhou Green High-Temperature Refractory Materials Proof-of-Concept Center, jointly established by Jiangyan's Jiangduo town and the Zhong Bu Zhi Guang Technology Transfer Center. The center focuses on scaling and validating new materials technologies, tackling the critical "first mile" challenge of turning scientific research into commercial applications.

Six experts from Wuhan University, Hebei University of Science and Technology, Jiangsu University of Technology, and leading venture capital institutions were appointed as project managers. Their role will be to bridge local companies' technical needs with universities' research capabilities, ensuring better integration of talent, technology, capital, and data.

The Jiangyan Economic Development Zone, High-Tech Zone, and several towns signed cooperation agreements with universities to promote one-on-one partnerships, enabling research resources to flow directly into local communities.

To attract top talent, Jiangyan also rolled out a comprehensive package covering leisure, lifestyle, career, and travel benefits. The program includes free admission to scenic spots, access to branded cultural events, high-paying job opportunities, and discounts on transport and accommodation — all designed to position Jiangyan as a talent-friendly district.

As part of the High-Level Talent Roadshow (Intelligent Manufacturing Session), 18 project leaders presented proposals in fields including Computerized Numerical Control (CNC) machine tools, industrial robotics, additive manufacturing, intelligent sensing and control, and smart assembly. Projects were evaluated on technological advancement, commercial potential, and regional industry alignment, helping guide their path to local implementation.

During the event, experts from the universities also visited several local enterprises. They held in-depth discussions on 12 key technical challenges in high-end equipment manufacturing and new materials, leading to multiple preliminary cooperation agreements.
