The Yuantong Power System intelligent components project, a major provincial industrial project in the Jiangyan Economic Development Zone, has completed its main factory structures and entered the exterior construction phase.
The project is funded with 1.5 billion yuan ($217.34 million) by local enterprise Jiangsu Yuantong Corrugated Pipe Co, which specializes in manufacturing bellows products for industries such as steelmaking, power generation, and petrochemicals.
The project's centerpiece is a 40,000-metric ton hydraulic press developed in collaboration with equipment manufacturers. With a 10-meter worktable, it is currently China's largest bellows forming machine. It can form bellows up to 10 m in diameter and 200 millimeters thick in a single process, solving the rolling or assembly issues common in China's large-diameter bellows industry.
Jiangyan is a major bellows production hub, hosting nearly 500 enterprises that account for over 30 percent of the domestic market, with annual sales approaching 5 billion yuan. Once operational, the project is expected to generate an additional 1.6 billion yuan in annual sales and 45 million yuan in tax revenue.
