A record six projects from Jiangyan district have been included in Jiangsu province's list of major projects and they are all making steady progress, injecting strong momentum into the district's high-quality economic development.
At the Jiangyan Economic Development Zone, Shuangdeng Group's new-type energy storage battery cell project, one of those included in the provincial major project list, is now in the final stages of equipment commission.
Once fully operational, the facility will boast an annual production capacity of 10 gigawatt-hours for lithium-ion and sodium-ion batteries, generating an estimated 3 billion yuan ($443.20 million) in annual sales revenue.
Provincial projects in the Jiangyan High-tech Zone, the primary hub for emerging industries across the district, are also advancing.
Teams at Jiangsu Gentech Semiconductor Equipment are busy finalizing equipment installation and commission for its ultra-high-purity specialty gas and chemical delivery equipment project.
Upon completion, it is expected to turn out over 100,000 units of various high-purity gas and chemical delivery and distribution equipment each year.
In the same zone, construction on Xiuzheng Pharmaceutical's East China R&D and manufacturing center is in full swing.
Since breaking ground late last year, the project has seen its bio-pharmaceutical plant topped out, with supporting facilities including a medical device plant, warehousing facilities, and an academic exchange center under construction. Work on the main structure is expected to be completed by the end of October.
Upon reaching full operation, annual sales revenue at the center is projected to hit 6 billion yuan.
