Jingjiang hosts summit on commercial aerospace development

A summit on the development of commercial aerospace opened in Jingjiang – a county-level city administered by Taizhou city, in East China's Jiangsu province – on Dec 19. 

A signing ceremony was also held for a group of commercial aerospace projects during the event.

In a keynote speech, Zhang Changping, Party chief of Jingjiang, said the city was committed to cultivating the aerospace industry through long-term efforts. 

He hoped urged investors and business start-ups to help further develop the sector, as he briefed summit attendees on Jingjiang's strengths in a raft of fields.

The city will optimize its services and offer a great ecosystem for industry in an all-round way, Zhang added.

In another speech, Zhang Jianheng – former deputy general manager of the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation or CASC – praised Jingjiang's strategy of developing aerospace and inviting commercial aerospace projects to move there.

A new commercial aerospace project for the city, worth about 11 billion yuan ($1.5 billion), was signed up at the event.

It will involve the development of liquid rocket engines and upstream products for rocket engines, as well as satellite assemblies and applications.
