Diverse promotion activities were held in shopping malls, supermarkets, and restaurants to drive the consumption boom. A minimum discount of 62 percent off was available at Gulou New World and Gulou Shopping Mall.

As a result, the clothing sales in the two shopping centers increased by 55 percent and 47 percent year-on-year, respectively.

Thanks to the rise of international gold prices and promotional activities, sales of gold increased by 65 percent and 62 percent year-on-year, respectively.

In addition, local residents conducted outdoor activities, such as camping and picnics, which drove the sales growth in sports clothing and outdoor equipment.
