A groundbreaking ceremony for 27 projects worth a combined investment of 18.03 billion yuan ($2.56 billion) took place on May 20 in Taixing, a county-level city administered by Taizhou in East China's Jiangsu province.
The new projects are related to industries such as fine chemicals, high-end equipment, new energy and health, and have a large scale and good development potential.
One of the projects is SP Chemicals (Taixing) Co Ltd, which will be using advanced technologies to dehydrogenate propane to propene.
Authorities are looking to provide more support and resources to the projects to help form new economic growth points as soon as possible, said a local official.
