The Taizhou maritime safety administration has ramped up its efforts to provide efficient and professional services, boosting the local shipbuilding industry – located in Taizhou city in East China's Jiangsu province – towards its high-quality development.

The latest statistics show that the administration guaranteed the trials of 12 vessels in the first quarter, an increase of 50 percent year-on-year.

The vessels had a length of over 205 meters, as well as a high technical content, so their trial conditions were strict.

On March 14, the administration succeeded in escorting the large vessel New Era Dream 6 on its trial voyage, involving 34 maritime personnel and 14 coastal patrol vessels.

In recent years, the administration has enhanced its policy support and safety guarantees for the city's shipbuilding industry.

The administration, along with experts in the field, has conducted systematic inspections of the overall quality of the ships, to reduce their safety risks after leaving the yards, according to official Yang Zhirong.

In addition, the administration has moved into the realms of intelligent and digital transformation. A full supply chain management platform – that has been developed to record the entire construction progress of newly built ships – was launched last September.
