The high-end ship supporting equipment manufacturing project broke ground in the Taizhou Medical High-tech Zone, on March 26.
The project, costing 1.6 billion yuan ($231.63 million) and operated by Taizhou Sanfu Heavy Industry Group, is recognized as a major project in the province for 2026.
Focusing on the core areas of green and intelligent ship support, the project will introduce high-end equipment, such as digital welding systems and large gantry cranes, to build a fine and intelligent production system.

After the project is put into operation, it is projected to produce 200,000 metric tons of high-end ship segmented modules each year and 1,000 sets of high-end ship supporting devices.
The project is expected to achieve annual invoice sales of 2 billion yuan, injecting new momentum into the regional economy.
Founded in 1985, the group is distinguished by its production of multi-purpose heavy lift vessels, each weighing tens of thousands of tons.
