An event celebrating the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) Navy took place in Taizhou Naval Primary School, Baima town, Taizhou, Jiangsu province, on April 23.
In February 1989, Baima Temple in Baima town was designated as the birthplace of the PLA Navy.
At the event, the story of Huang Xuhua, chief designer of China's first-generation nuclear submarines, was told, inspiring people to strive forward to achieve their goals.

The primary school students also performed flag exercises, interpreting the spirit of "cutting waves and striving for strength towards the sea" with a vigorous posture.
At the subsequent campus soccer invitational tournament, the men's team from Yangzijiang Primary School of Gaogang played against the men's team from Taizhou No 1 Foreign Language School.
