During the 2026 Spring Festival holiday from Feb 15 to 23, Taixing's consumption market witnessed a vibrant and bustling scene, with sales exceeding 100 million yuan ($14.48 million) across eight key monitored commercial enterprises, marking a 9.3 percent increase over the same period last year, according to data from the city's commerce bureau.
As 2026 marks the Year of the Horse, related motifs and elements have emerged as one of the main highlights, with creative zodiac ornaments and decorations featuring horses becoming popular among shoppers, alongside traditional Spring Festival couplets and blessings.
Additionally, cultural and tourism activities blending intangible cultural heritage and folk customs provided residents with an immersive cultural experience while shopping.

To further stimulate consumption, the commerce bureau, in collaboration with UnionPay, launched a consumption campaign, distributing coupons worth 4 million yuan, which successfully drove over 150 million yuan in spending.
Looking ahead, Taixing is committed to deepening the integration of commerce, culture, and tourism and optimizing the consumption environment to unleash further consumption potential. The city's dynamic start to the Chinese New Year sets a promising tone for sustained economic growth and consumer confidence.
