Jiangsu Jiyuan Medical Technology Co Ltd, located in Hailing district of Taizhou, East China's Jiangsu province, has taken the lead globally in its specialty niche market.
By focusing on producing disposable gynecological endoscopes and related products, the company is said to have filled an important gap in disposable endoscopes. Its products have obtained certifications from China, the United States and the EU, allowing it to play a leading role in its niche market on a global level.
"Compared to traditional endoscopes, our products have the advantages of being lower-priced, involving minimal trauma, and reducing cross-infection risks," said Yin Jie, an assistant to the director of the company.
"We have completed over 4,000 clinical trials in over 300 hospitals worldwide," he added.

The company's rapid development can partly be credited to its emphasis on technological innovation.
Since it was established, it has set up three research and development centers in Beijing and Taizhou. The company has devoted about half of its employees' time and energy on product development, with R&D investment accounting for over 20 percent of sales revenue, according to Cai Zhanyi, its general manager.
The company's disposable electronic hysteroscopy products have been sold online in 22 regions of China, and patients can have 70 to 80 percent of their medical insurance reimbursed.
The company is expected to achieve sales of over 80 million yuan ($11.15 million) this year and achieve sales of 1 billion yuan within the next three to five years.
