This year, Jiangyan district has implemented an innovation-driven development strategy, deepened reforms in its science and technology system, and enhanced its technological capabilities to support high-quality regional economic growth.

The district has also continually refined policies to promote new industrialization. By organizing policy briefings and training sessions, it has helped businesses fully leverage policy benefits. Additionally, it has launched a digital service platform to provide real-time policy updates and facilitate online project applications, significantly boosting efficiency.

So far, 380 enterprises in the district have received a total of 98.53 million yuan ($13.5 million) in support from Taizhou's incentive funds. Eight enterprises have been listed among leading innovation enterprises, with Jiangsu Pacific Precision Forging, located in the Jiangyan Economic Development Zone, earning the top spot citywide. Furthermore, Jiangyan has allocated nearly 4 million yuan in district-level science and technology policy funds, benefiting 65 enterprises.

Jiangyan has revamped its system for attracting innovation projects and intensified efforts to secure technology investments. This year, the district successfully introduced two major technology projects from the Jiangsu Industrial Technology Research Institute and certified 204 high-tech enterprises. Among them, three companies were recognized as potential provincial unicorns, the highest number in Taizhou.

In addition, the district has established a “1+4+N” offshore innovation network, operating centers in Nanjing, Shenzhen, Shanghai, and Wuhan. To date, two offshore innovation centers in Jiangyan have been recognized as high-quality centers, accounting for one-third of the city's total. Six enterprise offshore innovation centers have received the city's first batch of certifications, leading in number citywide.

To enhance its innovation ecosystem, Jiangyan expects to introduce 50 new incubator projects this year. The district is also advancing the development of major innovation platforms, including initiating the cultivation of a specialized research institute for ultra-precision intelligent equipment. Additionally, Jiangyan has supported Jiangsu Pacific Precision Forging and Suzhong Pharma in completing the first batch of provincial key laboratory applications.

Jiangyan also hosted its first Innovation Development Conference this year, which brought together over 200 participants, including four academicians, to discuss development opportunities. Additionally, the district organized five events to promote industry-academia collaboration and conducted 10 activities inviting innovators and mentors to visit Jiangyan.

By identifying 81 technical needs among local enterprises, Jiangyan has facilitated 87 high-quality industry-academia-research collaborations. The district has also strengthened financial services for businesses by deepening partnerships with financial institutions and expanding technology credit scales.

Looking ahead, Jiangyan district plans to deepen reforms in its science and technology system, systematically reconstruct mechanisms to meet the demands of new quality productive forces, and accelerate the enhancement of innovation platforms, the cultivation of innovation entities, and the aggregation of innovation elements.
