In recent years, Jiangyan district in Taizhou has been actively fostering an open and inclusive environment to attract young talent, hoping to drive high-quality regional development by boosting innovation and entrepreneurship.
The district has created over 2,000 internship positions and organized more than 70 job fairs, bringing in over 6,000 young professionals annually. By taking advantage of Jiangyan-born academicians, offshore innovation centers, and competitions, the district is also attracting high-end talent.
In addition to career opportunities, Jiangyan has enhanced its commercial facilities, designating 100 youth-friendly businesses and developing recreational spaces for cycling, roller skating, and jogging to cater to young people's interests. The district is also improving housing support, with 1,030 talent apartments completed and 424 under construction.
To bridge the gap between higher education and industry, Jiangyan is collaborating with universities through employment practice bases and tailored admission plans aligned with business needs, enabling companies to connect with highly skilled graduates early on.
Additionally, Jiangyan has launched its "Youth Inn" initiative, offering free short-term accommodation—up to seven days per stay twice a year—for job seekers. The inn also provides career guidance materials and policy information to improve employment success rates. Meanwhile, regular activities such as night schools, fitness programs, and social networking events help to create a stronger sense of belonging among young professionals in Jiangyan.
