Established in 1992, the Jiangyan Economic Development Zone is a provincial-level economic zone in Jiangsu province. Spanning 81.48 square kilometers, the zone administers 28 sub-districts and one orchard, with a total population of approximately 125,000 residents.

Over the years, Jiangyan EDZ has earned numerous national and provincial honors, including recognition as a National High-Tech Industrialization Base, a National Key Auto Parts Manufacturing Base, and a Jiangsu provincial "Internet + Advanced Manufacturing" Demonstration Zone.

In 2024, the zone reported a regional GDP of 22.4 billion yuan ($3.11 billion), with industrial invoice sales reaching 32 billion yuan. Fixed asset investment totaled 6.1 billion yuan, while general public budget revenue stood at 980 million yuan.

By the end of 2024, the zone was home to over 3,000 enterprises, including 854 industrial firms. Of these, 164 were above designated size, with four companies recognized as national manufacturing champions in specific sectors and 15 designated as national "little giant" enterprises. The zone has developed a distinctive "2+1" industrial structure, focusing on new energy equipment manufacturing, automotive and marine component manufacturing, and intelligent electronics.

The new energy equipment manufacturing sector is anchored by companies involved in battery storage, solar photovoltaics, and transformers. Shuangdeng Group leads the domestic telecom market in the production of energy storage batteries, while Jolywood (Taizhou) Solar Technology is a national champion in the production of high-efficiency N-type monocrystalline bifacial solar cells and modules.

The automotive and marine component manufacturing sector has developed into a robust cluster excelling in auto parts manufacturing, shipbuilding, and offshore engineering. Jiangsu Pacific Precision Forging is a national leader in automotive gear systems, while Zhenhua Haike Equipment Technology serves as a key R&D base for pumps and motors used in naval vessels.

The intelligent electronics sector is rapidly emerging, with notable players such as Asia Electronics Technology, Hanglingwei Technology, and Jiangsu Saiyang Electromechanical Technology leading the way in semiconductor processing equipment, AI technologies, and integrated circuits.

Jiangyan EDZ is committed to fostering a business-friendly environment. A full lifecycle service model ensures enterprises receive timely assistance without unnecessary disruptions.

The zone actively attracts major investment through industrial, technological, and fund-driven approaches. In 2024 alone, 22 major projects began construction and 17 were completed—each with an investment exceeding 100 million yuan. The landmark Shenyue Technology project, with a total investment of 10.6 billion yuan, was both signed and launched in the same year, marking the zone's first 10-billion-yuan investment.

Innovation remains a core driver of development. In 2024, the zone launched six key technology projects and 19 academia-industry collaborations, while adding 28 newly certified national high-tech enterprises. The Shenzhen-Jiangyan Offshore Innovation Center was completed, bringing in several cutting-edge projects.

To support industrial growth, the zone is developing two specialized parks: the Intelligent Manufacturing Industrial Park and the Emergency Response Equipment Industrial Park. These provide over 200,000 square meters of standard factory space, available in single- and multi-story configurations to meet diverse investment needs. A new industrial wastewater treatment facility now processes 40,000 metric tons per day, boosting sustainable development. In addition, a new talent center has been established, offering 800 fully equipped apartments and a 3,000-square-meter innovation workshop for skilled professionals.

To enhance livability, the zone features facilities like the Huangting International Hotel, Zhongtian Banquet Center, and Sanshui Amusement Park. Residents also enjoy access to top-tier educational and healthcare resources, including Jiangyan Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital, Jiangyan High School (West Campus), Chengxi School, and Sanshui Kindergarten. These amenities are part of the zone's broader strategy to integrate industry and urban living into a vibrant, modern development model.
