The county-level city of Taixing – located in Taizhou city in East China's Jiangsu province – has been promoting cooperation between local villages and private enterprises, as a way to help residents increase their incomes.
At Yongxin village in Binjiang town, a glassware factory has started operations after the land having been idle for two years.

To reactivate the plant and boost its collective operating income, the village took active moves to attract villagers to return home to start up the business – and now the staff of the glass factory are all locals.
Yongxin formed a working team to assist the glassware enterprise in solving difficulties such as employment and land use. The enterprise provided technical guidance and developed the processing of accessory products from family workshops. Other family farms and cooperatives in the village signed supply orders with the enterprise, providing it with high-quality agricultural and sideline products.
At present, the enterprise can add an estimated 50,000 yuan ($7,253) to 80,000 yuan to the collective income of the village and provide 20 villagers with jobs, said local official Cao Lei.
