The first ultra-efficient N-type solar cell produced by Popsolar New Energy Technology (Taixing) Co Ltd – located in the Taixing High-tech Zone in Taixing, a county-level city administered by Taizhou in East China's Jiangsu province – passed its quality test on May 11.
A big production plant to mass produce N-type topcon batteries and N-type IBC batteries is being built there, after the company obtained a raft of patents for the advanced batteries.

The company's N-type topcon battery process is said to ensure that the mass production conversion efficiency level exceeds 25 percent, a leading level in its field.
Its N-type IBC battery process adopts independently innovative laser doping technology, which can achieve a mass production conversion efficiency of up to 25.5 percent. Simultaneously, the whole process time is shortened and production costs are reduced.
In recent years, the Taixing High-tech Zone has focused on developing the photovoltaic industry and has attracted companies such as Jiangsu Jingfei Energy Co Ltd and Ideal Energy Sunflower Vacuum Equipment (Taixing) Ltd to settle there.
