The industrial cluster of specialized equipment for ship water treatment in the Taixing High-tech Zone, Taixing, Jiangsu province, has ranked first among similar industrial clusters in the province to serve as a shining business card in the high-end equipment manufacturing field and foster local development.
The cluster has now formed a complete industrial chain from pump and valve manufacturing to sewage treatment and ballast water treatment. Since its establishment in 2023, the cluster has gathered over a hundred chain enterprises, with a leading industrial scale in excess of 10 billion yuan ($1.47 billion).
Jiangsu Nanji Machinery is a key player in the cluster. The company holds over 100 patents and has completed five international and national research projects.

The domestic sewage treatment device developed by it has followed the Chinese icebreaker Xue Long to the polar regions.
Another backbone company, Yatai Pump & Valve, with over 90 authorized patents, has developed the first 1,250kW high-power high-voltage gear reduction submersible electric pump in China.
Meanwhile, a sharing mechanism in the zone is releasing tremendous energy for cluster companies.
Small- and medium-sized enterprises have for a considerable time struggled due to an inability to effectively measure these kinds of water pumps
In response to this challenge, Yatai has opened its super large water pump testing center with the ability to test 1,000KW-level large submersible water pumps. This helps reduce costs for SMEs and offers a unified ruler for the industry in Taixing.
