To celebrate Chinese Farmers' Harvest Festival that fell on Sept 23 this year, Taixing city – administered by Taizhou city, in East China's Jiangsu province – held a series of activities at its Yaowang sub-district on Sept 22, creating a great vibe for the harvest.
During the opening ceremony, Yaowang sub-district's experience and achievements in agricultural and rural development were represented by dance, music, poetry, painting, singing and choirs, among other things.
Zhang Hongxia, deputy secretary of the Taixing municipal Party committee and Ju Hongjuan, deputy secretary of the Party Working Committee of Yaowang sub-district, unveiled the National Agricultural Industry Strong Town for the sub-district.
CSFA Holdings Shanghai Co Ltd awarded Taixing Jiangyuan Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Co Ltd, located in Yaowang sub-district, the title of Jiangyuan Jiangsha Crab Breeding Experimental Base.
In addition, a group signing ceremony for Taixing's major agricultural and rural projects was also held during the event.
At the scene, a diverse range of agricultural products from Yaowang sub-district were also introduced and sold through online livestreaming.
People attending the event were also able to participate in activities such as catching crabs and fishing and they could also taste local delicacies.
"The harvest festival is a double harvest of material and spiritual well-being and Yaowang sub-district will continue to carry out key tasks such as rural development, construction and governance," said Li Jun, an official from Yaowang sub-district.
