The Taixing High-tech Zone – located in Taixing city, in East China's Jiangsu province – is on the march to recruit and attract new talent, to help drive its economic growth.
Jiang Jie, secretary of the Party working committee of the management office of the zone, recently gave a briefing on measures it's undertaken to bring in and train new people.
Officials in the zone have been urged to be responsible for scientific and technological innovation enterprises and innovation carriers, to help provide targeted services for them.
To act as a magnet for more talented people, the zone has coordinated Party organizations, overseas Chinese associations, local elites, alumni alliances and industry associations, to assist in upgrading its talent reservation pool.

What's more, the zone has stuck to the principle of attracting and gathering talent through industries, according to Jiang Jie.
Targeting key areas of industrial technology and future upgrading directions, the zone has improved high-end carriers – such as the New Optoelectronic Materials Academician Innovation Center – to lure more top-flight personnel to settle there.
A raft of activities has also been held in the zone – including the Taixing branch of the 2nd Jiangsu Conference for Industry-university-research Cooperation and Exchange – as key platforms for talent and project attraction.
Moreover, the zone has been reinforcing its moves to create a quality ecosystem for workforce development.
For example, it has continued to release opportunity lists to promote the matchmaking of talented people with projects in need of people.
Other support – like policies, venture capital, living functional zones and community services – is also being provided by the zone.
