"As a clean energy, methanol is safer and more cost-effective than hydrogen and LNG, " said company chief engineer Jin Xing.
"After nearly two years of research and development, our company independently developed the first equipment, helping ships convert fuel towards clean energy," Jin added.
Elsewhere in the zone, manufacturer Jiangsu Hehai Water Supply and Drainage Equipment specializes in producing and conducting R&D in environmental protection equipment, such as pump stations and water treatment gears.
"This year, our company will shift from the direction of equipment design, manufacturing, installation and commissioning to general contracting of engineering, striving for new significant breakthroughs," said Kuang Zaiwei, executive deputy general manager.
Kuang added that the company is targeting annual revenue of 400 million yuan ($54.87 million) in new-type green and environmentally friendly products in the current year.
In recent years, the zone has stuck to high-end, green and intelligent development. After a decade of vigorous expansion, it is currently home to over 90 companies in the water, gas, solid waste disposal and other related fields.
