The Taixing High-tech Zone, located in Taixing city, East China's Jiangsu province, has been ramping up its construction of projects to lay down a solid foundation for achieving its annual target of tasks.
With an investment of 500 million yuan ($68.17 million), a new optoelectronics glass and functional special glass manufacturing plant to be operated by Jiangsu Gangcheng New Material Technology is a key industrial venture that has been attracted to the zone.
Focusing on the R&D, production and sales of functional glass and refrigerator accessory glass, the project is accelerating the construction of the No 1 steel structure factory building and office building and the No 2 factory building.
Plans are for the project to complete the construction of its main structure by the end of June.
Elsewhere, at the construction site of a high-performance reinforced fiber products and aviation structural components plant, to be operated by Jiangsu Global Enterprise Management, the underground foundation work has been completed, and ground construction has begun.
Costing 1 billion yuan, the facility will mainly produce components for aerial drones, their shelters and display consoles.
Phase I of the project began construction on Dec 25 last year, with a planned construction period of six months and it's expected to be delivered and start operating in June, said Ye Xia, general manager of the company.
