The new Changtai Yangtze River Bridge, a cross-river passage connecting Changzhou and Taizhou cities in East China's Jiangsu province, recently passed another milestone in its construction.
The traffic safety facilities engineering of the structure recently passed its acceptance inspection, providing a safety foundation for subsequent operations.
The bridge is the first cross river passage on the Yangtze River that integrates highways, intercity railways and ordinary roads, putting a great deal of pressure on transportation security and the need to meet high safety standards.
The giant bridge is expected to be completed and begin operations before Oct 1.
