The Jiangsu Jicui Semiconductor Ceramic Materials Research Institute, a new research and development platform introduced by the Taixing High-tech Zone in Taixing city, East China's Jiangsu province, is on the move.
It is committed to becoming an innovative hub for technology research and product development in new ceramics.
With an investment of 110 million yuan ($15.42 million), the institute was jointly funded and constructed by the Jiangsu Industrial Technology Research Institute, the Taizhou Industrial Technology Research Institute, Professor Pan Wei's team from Tsinghua University and the Taixing High-tech Zone, focusing on the research and industrial application of advanced ceramic technology.
It has established a full industry supply chain technology system, from powder research and development to precision machining, creating precision ceramic components that are independently produced for semiconductor equipment.
Leveraging the State Key Laboratory of New Ceramics & Fine Processing at Tsinghua University, the institute is leading the way in China in terms of research into advanced structural ceramic materials and the manufacturing technology of precision ceramic components.

Besides independent research and development, the institute is also participating in major national scientific and technological projects and it has successfully broken through into multiple key technologies.
Looking ahead, it will continue to leverage its advantages in technology R&D and the commercialization of achievements, as well as introduce high-level talent, with the goal of applying for more than five invention patents and incubating no less than four technology projects annually.
