The launch ceremony for the Taizhou Innovation Alliance of Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection Industry was held in the Taixing High-tech Zone, Taixing, administered by Taizhou, Jiangsu province, on Nov 1.
Lu Zhiwei, vice-mayor of Taixing People's Government, said that the energy-saving and environmental protection industry in Taixing has achieved remarkable results, and the zone has become a model for green development.
"The establishment of the alliance comes at an opportune time, as China is currently in a stage of green, low-carbon, and high-quality development, and the energy-saving and environmental protection industry has enormous potential," said Guo Chengzhan, chairperson of the China Association of Environmental Protection Industry.
He hoped that the alliance can become a source of technological innovation, a catalyst for the transformation of achievements, an open cooperation bridge and link, to foster industrial upgrading.
Deans of environmental colleges from Chinese universities conducted inspections on Ecology-Oriented Development (EOD) projects and key enterprises in the zone on the afternoon of Oct 31. They witnessed firsthand how Taixing is empowering industrial upgrades through ecological governance and fostering green development through industrial agglomeration.
