The Taizhou Port Economic Development Zone, located in Taizhou city in East China's Jiangsu province, has shown strong economic growth in the first half of 2023.
From January to June, the zone's industrial output value of enterprises above designated size – those with annual revenue of 20 million yuan ($2.8 million) or above – and its added value of industries reached 15.24 billion yuan and 3.66 billion yuan, an increase of 36.45 percent and 34 percent, respectively. Its general public budget revenue grew by 22 percent during this period, hitting 360 million yuan.
As one of the zone's main industries, the automobile industry saw its total product output reaching 79,000 units in the first half of 2023. The output value of the zone's automobile and parts sectors has increased by 57.6 percent year-on-year.
Moreover, the zone added two new industrial enterprises above designated size between January and June this year. It is also expected to add another 17 enterprises before the end of the year.
Since the start of this year, the zone has signed 25 new projects worth over 100 million yuan each.
