The Tongyong Dongli maker community in the Taizhou Port Economic Development Zone – located in Taizhou city, in East China's Jiangsu province – recently received special funds of 3 million yuan ($416,520), in a move supported by a provincial incubation plan.
The plan was released by the Department of Finance of Jiangsu Province and the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Science and Technology.
It aims to support makers communities, to further accelerate the construction of specialized technology entrepreneurship carriers and attract high-end talent for innovation and entrepreneurship.
Featuring the general power industry, the Taizhou community focuses on advanced manufacturing industries for automotive components and general power.
After years of development, it currently has 10 professional technical support platforms. Moreover, it has cultivated 63 technology-based small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as 41 high-tech enterprises, forming a specialized industrial cluster in its area.
Last year, the space built over 150,000 vehicles and the automotive and parts industry achieved a total output value of 21.39 billion yuan.
The provincial incubation plan project mainly supports a group of top crowdsourcing clusters with rich innovation resources, complete entrepreneurial services, significant influence and strong demonstration and leadership roles.
