Taizhou promotes integrated cross-provincial ship inspections

Taizhou city in East China's Jiangsu province has been promoting the pilot pattern of mutually recognizing inter-regional ship inspections.

Jiangsu and the neighboring Anhui province have been promoting this integrated ship inspection pattern in a bid to improve ship inspection efficiency. Both provinces jointly established an integrated working station for ship inspections in July last year.

Through this pattern, involved ships do not need to return to their home areas for annual inspection. For example, if an Anhui ship has operated in Jiangsu waters for an extended period, it can conduct annual inspections in Jiangsu and the results of that inspection will be recognized in Anhui.

To better serve this project, Taizhou has also set up a water ship inspection workstation near the Taizhou Bridge, which spans across the Yangtze River. This station is equipped with a ship inspection service hall, crew rest room, and regulation reading room.

The two provinces have been working closely with each other regarding regional interaction and transportation connections. Statistics showed that Anhui ships sailing in the Jiangsu section of the Yangtze River account for about 40 percent of the total number of Anhui ships.
