The port logistics industrial park in the Taizhou Medical High-tech Zone – located in Taizhou city, in East China's Jiangsu province – significantly expanded its brand influence in 2023 with the completion of the Grain Trading Center project.
This established it as the biggest single-capacity specialist grain terminal in the Yangtze River Delta region.
Adding to the city's achievements, a pivotal announcement was made on Aug 31, 2023, by the National Medical Products Administration and the General Administration of Customs, designating Taizhou as a drug import port.
This made Taizhou city the 29th nationwide and the fourth in Jiangsu province to have its own drug import facility, marking a substantial leap forwards.
Most notably, on Dec 31, 2023, the Taizhou International Container Terminal – also located in the Taizhou Medical High-tech Zone – reported a great year, posting annual throughput of 343,100 standard containers, up 4.9 percent on the previous year.
Foreign trade played a significant role, contributing to a 6.7 percent increase with 161,400 standard containers, while domestic trade saw 3.4 percent growth, accounting for 181,700 containers. Those performances underscored its successful fulfillment of annual targets.
