The Qiaoyang community in Xuzhuang sub-district, Taizhou Port Economic Development Zone, has achieved notable progress in river management, improving the local water environment and enhancing community satisfaction.
A key milestone in these efforts was the completion of a 2.13-million-yuan ($291,818) landscape renovation project, which included the construction of wooden walkways and fences, turning a 27-mu (1.8 hectares) river into a picturesque tourist attraction. These upgrades significantly improved the river's drainage capacity and water quality.
The improvements were made possible through comprehensive measures such as river dredging, bank slope reinforcement, and enhanced water system connectivity. Together with long-term maintenance, these efforts have expanded the coverage of ecological rivers and fostered a healthier ecosystem.
