A delegation from leading Chongqing institutions — including the School of Materials Science at Chongqing University, Chongqing University of Science & Technology, Chongqing University of Technology, Chongqing Polytechnic University of Electronic Technology, and the Citrus Research Center of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences — visited the Taizhou Port Economic Development Zone on Aug 1 for an exchange visit focused on industrial cooperation.
During a roundtable discussion, representatives from the zone provided a detailed overview of the local high-end equipment manufacturing sector, highlighting the industry's strengths and current trajectory. They also outlined the core businesses and technological challenges faced by enterprises in the park.
In response, professors from the visiting universities and research institutions introduced their respective research focuses, technical achievements, and experience in industry-academia cooperation.
Following the discussion, the delegation conducted field visits to several enterprises in the zone. Inside production workshops and R&D centers, professors observed the operation of intelligent production lines and engaged directly with engineers on-site. They probed into pain points in advanced materials applications and technical hurdles in equipment development, offering on-the-spot analysis and proposed solutions tailored to each enterprise's needs.

Looking ahead, the zone plans to systematically organize the technical challenges, project interests, and talent cooperation needs identified during the visit. A regular communication mechanism will be established to promote the deep integration of academic research and industrial demand. This initiative aims to fast-track the conversion of scientific research into practical applications while further boosting the zone's position in the high-end manufacturing value chain.
