Jiangsu Pengling Rubber Hose in the Taizhou Port Economic Development Zone is pushing ahead with its 600-million-yuan ($87.19 million) thermal management module project, meaning the company, which has spent more than 30 years in the automotive hose business, is now shifting toward a more systematic and integrated way of doing things.
The project's first phase, backed by 70 million yuan, has already helped the company get its products to market. The second phase will see the investment of another 75 million yuan and is scheduled to be completed by the end of this year. It will increase capacity to meet growing market demand.
The thermal management module brings together pumps, valves, sensors, and hoses into a single unit, replacing the old approach of using many separate parts. This design reduces the number of different parts, frees up space inside the vehicle, and lowers manufacturing costs.
The company says that thermal management fits well with its existing hose business, allowing it to offer customers lighter, more integrated, and better-value products.
Thanks to robust technology and the benefits of integration, the product has been well received in the market. The company is now working with several well-known automakers, including SAIC, Seres, Geely, and Leapmotor, and a number of projects have already moved into mass production.
