The Taizhou Port Economic Development Zone in Taizhou, Jiangsu province, is witnessing a marked upswing in investment activity, with a growing number of enterprises expanding their operations in the zone.
A prime example is Taizhou Yourun Electronic Technology, a high-tech enterprise that started by leasing standard factory buildings. Following land acquisitions in 2012 and again in 2020, the company launched a third-phase project in March with an investment of 515 million yuan ($76.4 million). Now, it boasts a product matrix of over 100 specifications, supplying industry giants like Huawei and BYD.
From 2021 to 2026, 60 enterprises in the zone have increased investments, collectively injecting 11 billion yuan across 93 projects. In 2025, industrial output generated from enterprises above a designated size reached 29.6 billion yuan. This trend is bolstered by 34 new projects this year, with expected investments totaling 4.21 billion yuan and poised to drive new economic growth.

Liu Hong, deputy secretary of the zone's Party Working Committee, said that resident enterprises are continually doubling down on their investments, casting a strong "vote of confidence" in the zone's development trajectory.
He said that in recent years, the focus of increased investments has gradually shifted from workshop renovations, equipment upgrades, and capacity expansions toward smart, digital and green transformation and upgrades.
The zone's integrated service system supports enterprises throughout their lifecycle, offering land, financial, and talent solutions.
Aiming for a 50-billion-yuan output value by 2030, the zone is committed to enhancing its industrial landscape and competitiveness, setting a benchmark for industrial development.
