Xinghua city eyes fresh development in 2023

The second session of the 17th People's Congress of Xinghua – a county-level city, administered by the prefecture-level Taizhou city in East China's Jiangsu province – was held on Jan 2.

Xinghua Mayor Yin Jun delivered the municipal government's report to the conference.

According to the report, the city's economy remained stable and showed a positive tendency in 2022. Regional GDP was estimated at 110 billion yuan ($16 billion), up 5 percent and the revenue in the general public budget was projected to come in at 4.8 billion yuan, up 4 percent.

In 2023, Xinghua will follow six paths – to high-quality development, the new type of urbanization, the deep integration of culture and tourism, common prosperity, urban governance and achieving a balance in its development and security.

What's more, regional GDP is expected to increase by 6.5 percent and the revenue in the general public budgets is expected to rise by 6 percent.

Fixed asset investment above a designated size is expected to grow by 11 percent. Per capita urban and rural disposable income is expected to grow 7 percent and 8 percent, respectively.
