Xinghua city – a county-level city of Taizhou city, in East China's Jiangsu province – is making big efforts to build a specialized industrial cluster.

That's in its bid to create a stronger industrial base, with a better environment and to improve its people's livelihoods.

Dainan town in Xinghua is well-known for its stainless-steel products in China. At present, the city is striving to further boost the cluster development of the stainless-steel industry, paving the way for the sector to move into special materials and to expand its deep processing operations.

Xinghua will also guide its casting and forging industry to develop complete sets of equipment and high added-value products.

What's more, for emerging industries – such as metal new materials, energy conservation and environmental protection and high-end equipment manufacturing – Xinghua will focus on supply chain direction plans, improving weaknesses, supply chain extensions and other key steps.

In terms of the construction industry, Xinghua will support its sustainable development, to strengthen the preservation of the environment. The total output value of the construction industry is projected to reach 70 billion yuan ($10.35 million) this year.

Taking the digital economy as a critical factor in the transformation of its companies, Xinghua has undertaken 240 projects to date on intelligent reconstruction or digital transformation. That's on top of 100 technological upgrading projects, involving expenditure of more than 10 million yuan each.
