The terminal business in CCCC (Xinghua) Port in Taizhou city, East China's Jiangsu province, has bucked the downward trend to increase its margins since early this year, and it is expected to handle a throughout of 30,000 20-foot equivalent units (TEU) in 2023.

As the golden season for the outward transport of Xinghua wheat has begun, a fleet of heavy-duty trucks are busy delivering wheat to the terminal, where they are then poured into containers before being shipped to their destination.

This innovative terminal business enables local individual wheat growers to transport their goods outward in a more efficient manner. About 40,000 metric tons of Xinghua wheat has been handled with this business mode since June, and more wheat will be shipped within this year.

Fang Kaichuan, general assistant-manager of the port's developer said that this work model is convenient and it reduces the loss of goods. It also avoids unnecessary intermediate links, making it more precise and convenient.
