Ten companies from Xinghua city – administered by Taizhou in East China's Jiangsu province – recently participated in the first phase of this year's China Import and Export Fair, or Canton Fair.
The ongoing fair, which was launched on Oct 15 in Guangzhou – capital of South China's Guangdong province – is being held in three phases and runs to Nov 4.
Xinghua's stands featured exhibition areas for hardware, general machinery, electrical products, power and electrical equipment and household appliances.
As a company participating in the Canton Fair for the first time, Jiangsu Dingfeng Stainless Steel Co Ltd squeezed full value from its presence at the event.
"We understood the needs of customers and exchanged information on raw materials prices, product processes and other aspects in our respective countries, which was of great significance," said general manager Sun Min.
Elsewhere, Zhongxing Electric Manufacturing Co, with an exhibiting track record of over 10 years, succeeded in hooking up with top customers and exploring fresh international markets.
"For over a decade, we have been growing step by step through the Canton Fair and our company achieved sales of nearly $20 million in the first three quarters of this year," said Jia Zhongliang, director of the group.
Pan Yong, a director of Taizhou Weiye Machinery Co Ltd, felt proud that his firm was an exhibitor at the fair for the first time.
His company has achieved product breakthroughs in medical equipment accessories, robotic arm manufacturing and other area, which made him confident about entering the international market.
