Centering on industrial breakthroughs in key core technologies, Xinghua city – administered by Taizhou city in East China's Jiangsu province – has acted decisively.
It's supported leading industry companies to utilize the innovation network of the Jiangsu Industrial Technology Research Institute to connect with global innovation resources and find solutions.
As a result, Jiangsu Xingda Steel Tyre Cord Co Ltd, Jiangsu Xihu Group and Kerisom Food Enterprises (Jiangsu) Ltd – all settled in Xinghua – have collaborated with the institute to build their enterprise joint innovation centers.
These centers are institutions jointly established by the institute and enterprises in the form of non-independent legal entities – specializing in strategic research on key industrial technologies, exploring and refining enterprise technical difficulties and needs, as well as coordinating the introduction of global innovation resources for applications research and integrated innovation.
The initiative is expected to further help enterprises improve their efficiency in introducing key technologies, reduce time and innovation costs and accelerate the training of innovation talent – achieving breakthroughs in high-precision and cutting-edge technologies.
Looking ahead, plans are for Xinghua to leverage the centers to tap into the technological challenges and needs of businesses and help enterprises transform their collaborative technological achievements into production.
