With right now being the critical period for the spring management of the wheat crop, farmers in Linhu township – in Xinghua city, administered by Taizhou city in East China's Jiangsu province – have seized the moment to conduct critical spraying operations.
Xinghua is known as a major agricultural and grain city, with the wheat sowing area there covering 1.06 million mu (70,800 hectares).
This year, Xinghua has organized for local agricultural technology experts to actively respond to the impact of two low temperature waves and cold snaps – guiding disaster prevention and reduction in grassroots agricultural production in a scientific way, ensuring the growth of crops is less affected.
