Shagou Ancient Town Scenic Spot in Xinghua city, East China's Jiangsu province, was recently designated as a national 4A-level tourist attraction.
Shagou Ancient Town has a long history of rich cultural inheritance and relics and also boasts a special geographical location, making it become the political, economic, cultural and transportation center of surrounding towns and villages in history.
Xinghua city is located in the central part of the Lixiahe plain and the ancient town is regarded as the best-preserved of its kind in the Lixiahe region.
Occupying an area of about 10 hectares, the scenic spot has memorial archways, former residences of local celebrities, merchant mansions, ancient trees and wells.
