The second batch list of pilot regions for improving the quality management system certification of provincial small and micro enterprises or SMEs was recently released.
Included on the list was the advanced metal material industry from Xinghua city, East China's Jiangsu province.
It is one of the pillar sectors of Xinghua, which has gathered a group of SMEs with leading technology and strong market competitiveness. They operate in such areas as high-performance alloys, precision casting and special metal processing.
In recent years, the sector has forged significant advantages in downstream fields including aerospace and high-end equipment manufacturing, through technological innovation and industry-university-research cooperation.
With the improvement of quality management system certification, the selection aims to assist SMEs in improving their quality and efficiency, promote the coordinated development of the industry supply chain and inject new momentum into the high-quality development of the regional economy.
Plans are for Xinghua to ensure that the number of enterprises achieving pilot recognition will total 50 percent or more of the city's number of industry supply chain enterprises.
