The 3rd Yangtze River Delta Foundry Conference was held on July 12-13 in Xinghua city, located in East China's Jiangsu province, attracting nearly 300 representatives from businesses, universities, research institutes and industry organizations from the Yangtze River Delta region.
An opening ceremony was staged on the first day, with Shao Jianfeng, mayor of Xinghua, telling attendees that over the past three years the conference had consistently responded to national policies, focused on the latest scientific research achievements and built bridges for exchanges and cooperation.
Shao added that as a result the event had gradually become a barometer that was leading the way for the high-quality development of the foundry industry.

During the ceremony, an awards ceremony for the Excellent Paper Award and Excellent Scientific and Technological Achievement Award took place.
There was also a signing ceremony for a commercial agreement between the Jiangsu Foundry Society and the Xinghua Economic Development Zone, and another one between the society and the Xinghua Precision Casting Industry Park.
In addition, an awards ceremony for the Ductile Iron R&D Center, the Steel Ingot Mold R&D Center and the Investment Casting R&D Center of the Industrial Research Institute of the Jiangsu Foundry Society was held, underscoring the latest trend of industry-research collaboration.
